About Me

I have worked in animal welfare since 2020, specialising in dog behaviour. Working in this industry has provided me with the valuable skills to assess and modify behaviour, using only positive methods and it has been an invaluable experience to watch these dogs transform.
I am fully qualified at Level 4 through the British College of Canine Studies which enables me to practice as a behaviour consultant. I am actively working towards gaining further qualifications in order to better the behavioural support I am able to provide for dog and horse owners within North Wales. I am continually progressing my professional development, studying only science based methods and I firmly believe, learning never ends. I am very passionate about the use of positive, force free methods and my aim is to help owners understand their animals and ultimately understand the underlying causes of their behaviour.
I have personally had horses and dogs in my life from a young age and I happily revolve my life around them. Animals offer us so much, enriching our lives in many ways and I believe it is important for us to learn how best to communicate with them, offering all animals understanding and clarity in a modern, sometimes scary, world that was not designed with them in mind. I have worked with horses in a variety of settings from foals to competition horses and have taken this time to learn everything I could and reflect. I now adopt a force-free, positive reinforcement based approach with my own horses which lines up with how I approach my training with dogs. All animals follow the same learning theory, therefore, clicker training a dog is no different to clicker training a horse!
It is incredible what can be achieved when the time is taken to learn how to read our animals body language and cues and we can use this to work towards understanding them like we never have before. I am very passionate about helping owners create a strong relationship with their animals where both the animal and the owner mutually benefit. When we are able to set our animals up for success with consistent, reward-based training we can create animals that feel overall more confident in different situations and our animals feel optimistic every time they see us.
