Many of us have watched in awe as performers are able to direct their horses without ropes or constraints. Liberty work is easy to achieve, especially when you incorporate positive reinforcement methods.

Target training can be used in a variety of situations: 

- Teaching your horse to stand and wait at a target whilst you walk off to get tack/brushes etc. 

- Teaching your horse to follow a target so that you can lead them from A to B with ease. 

- Teaching your horse to go to a target so that you can safely enter their stable or field with food without them trying to leave or mug you!

The possibilities are truly endless and once your horse learns to target, you will find many occassions where this skill is useful.
